Ten supporting documents for Tier 1 Exceptional Talent Visa application – what does this mean? Let’s consider almost a real situation.

For example, I have my Work Agreement in 15 pages, also my article published in the international journal in 3 pages, my diplomas and certificates are in 5 pages plus five pages of the translation into English. And also I have five pages of screenshots from my applications. At least, these four supporting documents have 33 pages. Is it OK to add to my application?

Actually, no. Your supporting documents should be in maximum ten pages (that means in 2 sides of A4 every document). Here are official explanations from Tech Nation Guidelines

Up to ten pieces of evidence about one mandatory and at least two qualifying criteria listed in the table on page 6 above.

Examples of the type of evidence you may wish to provide can be shown in Annex B. Please note that applications should be accompanied by no more than ten supporting documents, with each piece of evidence (i.e. document) comprising maximum two sides of A4 paper.

Sending additional information is unlikely to aid your application and may delay consideration

Tech Nation Visa Guide

Hence, sending more than ten supporting documents or overreaching the limit of 10 pages A4 will not benefit your application. Moreover, this will prove that you either have not read the Guidelines accurately or decided to breach this rule.

My lifehacks regarding supporting documents

  • Extracts. I made extraction from long docs like employment agreement. Hence, every 30-pages transaction was just on two sides of A4. I still had an introductory part of the contract (titles of parties, addresses and other requisites), my position, salary and details of work like full-time or part-time employment, primary duties, etc.).
  • Two-Sided translation. Some of my documents were in Ukrainian, so on the front side I have printed original of the document, and on the backside, I have done an English translation.
  • Selections of screenshots. I did not send all the screenshots that I wanted. I selected only the most relevant of them and also print them in two-sided A4.

Examples of formatting Supporting Documents (extract of Employment Contract, Certificate about On-Line Course completion and CV) for Exceptional Talent Visa application are available upon request.

PS: perhaps, advice by past applicants will be useful for yours. They are Tier 1 Exceptional Visa holders now. Hence, their experience is worth noticing.

  1. Hey Andrii, should I preface each screenshot/evidence with explanatory text? At the moment I’ve only done so to give context, if the screenshot doesn’t. Thanks!

    1. Hi Nicole,
      Thanks for a question.
Yes, please, add a brief about the screenshot. It will make the life of an assessment expert easier. I have also done the same in my visa application.

      Sincerely,
      Andrii Seleznov
