Shall I contact a lawyer for Tier 1 Exceptional Talent Visa?

Solicitors in Tier 1 Exceptional Talent Visa application - a nice bonus or requirement?

I understand the importance of legal professionals in different bureaucratic tasks. But hiring a lawyer for Tier 1 Exceptional Talent Visa application is not the regular case to think about. I got regular questions regarding this issue. Hence, I decided to shed lit and give my thoughts here. Hopefully, it will be useful for other applicants for the Global Talent Visa.

Question

I am not sure whether I should contact solicitor because it is too expensive to cover. Thus, I would like to ask you about reaching to a solicitor.

Could you share the information if you contact a solicitor before submission or to submit your application? Do you think that it is compulsory (essential) to be appointed for the visa?

Factors To Think Before Hiring a Lawyer for Tier 1 Exceptional Talent Visa application

1. Your Budget

The lawyers in the UK, who you need to contact about your case, are called solicitors. The prices for lawyers, I mean solicitors, who work with Global Talent Visa applicants vary from £50 to £400 per hour. Depending on the person or company you will choose. Also, the location of the company may influence the legal fee.

For example, if you want to ask for help a lawyer based in the City of London or Westminster, it will be, probably, slightly higher than a lawyer in Sheffield.

2. Your Time

If you have an urgent need to have advice from the lawyer for Global Talent Visa application, then be ready to pay more. For example, if you got a rejection and need to apply for Endorsement Review. In brief, you have just 28 days for this. Hence, you need to hurry up.

However, if you contact a solicitor regarding Tier 1 Exceptional Talent Visa application and don’t have a deadline for your case – it may cost cheaper.

Lawyer for Tier 1 Exceptional Talent Visa or… not

I did not contact UK solicitor for Tier 1 Exceptional Talent Visa application. Also, I have neither paid for any consultancy or advisory company before and after submitting my visa application. I have done everything by myself. Honestly, I wrote three or four editions of my Personal Statement. Then I asked the opinion of trusted people about the doc. But it was friends’ support. As a result, I did not pay for it at all.

You are entirely right – the prices for this unique type of visa are very high, and they do not guarantee a positive outcome. If they say that they guarantee – they lie. Every application is confidential. As a result, it is assessing by an independent board of experts at Tech Nation.

Hence, I am sure that it is neither essential nor compulsory to ask for solicitor’s support. The UK government created this type of visa precisely for people who are not legal experts but techies. Just follow the guidelines provided at the Tech Nation website.

If you have any other questions, please, feel free to send it to me. I can share my knowledge with you for free and will be happy to do this. We have already been in the same boat so understand how it was.
